Cream Cheese Slice

Recipe submitted by a family friend of an OCA staff member who in turn sourced it from a chef.

What you’ll need:

2 sheets ready made puff pastry
250g cream cheese
250g unsalted butter
250g caster sugar
Vanilla essence, approx. 2 small teaspoons
1 tablespoon gelatin, dissolved in a small amount of cold water to soften, then add 1/4 cup boiling water to completely dissolve





  • Preheat oven to 195C or 180C if fan forced
    Prick pastry sheets and bake on baking tray for approx. 10 minutes, till lightly golden in colour. Allow to cool.
  • Beat cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth, gradually add caster sugar and vanilla essence, then add gelatin. Mix until smooth.
  • Place filling between cold (baked) pastry sheets and refrigerate until set.
  • Trim off edges with sharp knife and cut into pieces approx 2.5cm x 2.5cm.
    Dust with pure icing sugar prior to serving.
